Claire Kitzman
Claire joined MRT in 2014 after eight years coaching U8 athletes at Marquette Mountain in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where she was born and raised. She began skiing at age three, raced through high school and college, on an elite NASTAR team/league, and brings a safe, super fun approach that builds strong fundamentals, confidence, and a lifelong love of the sport. Claire studied Physical Geography and Outdoor Recreation Leadership, which shows up in her thoughtful pacing, clear progressions, and smart terrain choices.
Now based in Hood River, Oregon, Claire also serves as a Special Education teacher with ESD 112 at Gorge Academy in White Salmon, supporting elementary students with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs. The same patience, positive reinforcement, and relationship skills she uses in the classroom guide her work on snow.
When she is not coaching, Claire enjoys skiing, fly fishing, winging, exploring the Gorge with friends and family, and making music with Jamba Marimba. Each winter, she looks forward to helping young athletes grow as skiers and as people.
